Since
2002, membership has been open to members of the
International Order of Rainbow for Girls or the
International Order of Jobs Daughters who have been
active for 3 years or majority and have attained the
age of 18. Such petition must be accompanied
by a recommendation from a Master Mason. |
How does one become a member of
the Order of Amaranth?
By completing a petition for
membership, having it signed by two present members of the
Order, paying the necessary petition fee and submitting it to
your local Court of Amaranth for consideration.
What happens after I submit my
petition?
Your petition will be received by the
Court at its next regular meeting and an Investigating
Committee will be assigned. The Investigating Committee will
report its findings to the Court at its second meeting following
the receipt of your petition. The Court will then ballot on
your request for membership. If you are elected, the Court
secretary will inform you and schedule with you a date for your
initiation. At the initiation, you will receive the degree of
the Order of Amaranth and become a regular member.
What does the Investigating
Committee do?
Legally, the committee is to check the
character and qualifications of the applicant for membership.
In practice, the committee is a committee of visitation. It
will meet with you and get to know you. They will check your
Masonic eligibility. But most importantly, they will answer
your questions about the Order of Amaranth and steps you are
presently going through in order to become a member of the Order
of Amaranth.
Why must the Court ballot on my
petition for membership?
Like any other fraternal group, the
Order of Amaranth is careful about who they admit to membership.
We want to be sure that our members are of good morals and be a
constructive and harmonizing member of the Order.
What happens at my initiation?
You will be put through the degree of
the Order of Amaranth. There is no hazing. You will be taught
beautiful and impressive lessons concerning the four principal
virtues of the Order: Truth, Faith, Wisdom and Charity. These
lessons will be given within the setting of a queenly court
during the period of chivalry.
What happens after my
initiation?
Hopefully you become an active member
of your court by participating in its activities and working
with it for the great charitable efforts of the Order.
How may I obtain more
information about becoming a member of the Order of Amaranth?
By asking any member of the
Order that you know?
What if I don't know a member
near where I live?
Send an e-mail message to the our
Webmaster with your name, address, telephone number or e-mail
address. The Webmaster will forward your request for
information to the appropriate area where you live. A local member of the Order should contact
you by your preferred method within a week.
